Lake Minneola High Student Internship

Insight Credit Union is looking for students passionate about learning aspects of the financial industry and has the desire to provide an excellent service experience.

A Student Intern will participate in the Finance Academy In-School Branch program at Lake Minneola High, receiving educational curriculum experience through operation of a credit union location. Students will assist members and potential members with their Credit Union needs; process transactions, explain services, set up new accounts, conduct account maintenance, refer products and services.

This position is located in the Finance Academy In-School Branch program at Lake Minneola High.

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

• Receives and processes member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments; sells money orders and official checks to members; transfers amounts from member accounts as directed. Maintains member transaction records.
• Must be familiar with credit union consumer products and refers products and services. Refers problems that are beyond their authority to the Insight Credit Union In-School Manager. Focuses on end-to-end member experience.
• Partners with the Insight Credit Union In-School Manager to prepare reports and audits to including but not limited to: balancing of cash vault, balancing of cash drawer, conducting required audits.
• Performs start of day and end of day processes. Assures that appropriate records are maintained.
• Performs other related duties as assigned that enhances the student learning environment under the Finance Academy Program.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience: No experience required. This is a training environment for the educational benefit of the students involved. Must be enrolled and selected through the Finance Academy Program.

Education: Current Lake Minneola High School student.

Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the school branch, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion.

Other Skills: Ten key calculator and computer keyboard by touch. Must be good with detail to deal with numbers and names.

Physical Requirements: This position requires manual dexterity, bending, stooping or standing as necessary.

Work Environment: This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
