What does the job involve?

The Land Administration Analyst – Division Order is responsible for managing and validating division of interest pay decks for non-operated oil and gas properties. This role ensures accurate revenue allocation and compliance with contractual obligations by analyzing ownership documentation, partner communications, and operator-provided data. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in oil and gas land administration or accounting, advanced Excel skills, and experience working within SAP environments to manage ownership and financial data.

What will my tasks be?

Within this position, your key tasks will be to:

  • Review and validate operator-provided division of interest decks for accuracy.

  • Calculate and confirm net revenue interest and working interest based on lease and title documentation.

  • Track ownership changes resulting from conveyances, probate, or other title events.

  • Monitor and reconcile revenue statements and joint interest billings from operators.

  • Ensure internal systems reflect accurate ownership and payout status, including before-payout and after-payout interests.

  • Coordinate with Accounting to resolve revenue discrepancies and suspense issues, also ensuring accurate ownership records and supporting documentation for audit and compliance purposes.

  • Interpret title opinions, assignments, deeds, and other legal instruments.

  • Liaise with operators, partners, and internal teams to resolve ownership and payment issues, while responding to inquiries from interest owners and support timely resolution of ownership changes.

  • Build and maintain division of interest spreadsheets in Excel using advanced formulas and clear audit trails.

  • Use SAP to manage ownership data, track revenue allocations, and support financial reporting, while interfacing with land systems such as Quorum, Enertia, or Excalibur to support data integrity across platforms.

  • Support acquisition and divestiture due diligence for non-operated assets.

Here's what we expect from you:

At Equinor, there are some overall qualities we regard as essential. We want you to identify with the values that guide our decisions and help us succeed and grow: open, collaborative, courageous and caring. We expect you to make safety your priority and to contribute to our zero-harm culture. And for this specific position, we are also looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Energy Management, Accounting, Business, or a related field, with a minimum of five years of Division Order experience required.

  • Strong understanding of leasehold ownership, title law, and revenue distribution.

  • Experience with land and accounting systems such as Quorum, Enertia, or Excalibur.

  • Hands-on experience using SAP for ownership data management, revenue allocation tracking, reporting, and reconciliation.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, including PivotTables, lookup formulas, conditional formatting, and data validation.

  • Experience with INDEX/MATCH, VLOOKUP, and similar formulas used to validate ownership and financial data.

  • Experience with Excel macros or automation preferred.

  • Ability to create well-controlled spreadsheets with clear audit trails and validation logic.

  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
