Responsibilities
Drees Homes, one of the largest privately-owned homebuilders in the nation, is seeking candidates for a Cost Analyst position in our Washington DC Division. Are you someone who is high energy, a self-motivator, and someone who loves exploring data and numbers? This could be the position for you!
In this position, you will be responsible for assisting in the financial analysis, budget preparation and ongoing accounting of land development projects. The Land Analyst will also prepare comparative market analysis for new communities and the overall market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in estimating of development projects and preparation of development budgets
- Monitor budgets of ongoing projects and alert the Land Manager of budget concerns
- Work with Development Manager on bill approval and processing
- Prepare Project Summary updates
- Prepare detailed competitive market analysis
- Research and provide competitor information
- Gather MLS information to determine market value and trends
- Create Summaries and Conclusions to provide overall analysis for each project
- Annual lot price review in preparation of the annual budget process
Knowledge and Skills:
Analytical thinker
- High focus on accuracy, attention to detail, and timely delivery
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Organized and strong problem solving skills, including strong math aptitude
- Strong multi tasking skills
- Land acquisition or experience in related field preferred
- Land planning, engineering, or estimating experience preferred
- Municipality experience related to land is a plus
- Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
