Full Relocation is available
Compensation:
  • Year 1: $220,000–$230,000 base + bonus + equity ($300K+ total)
  • Year 2+:$400K–$425K+ total compensation, with structured ramp

About the Opportunity
A Fortune 600 insurance leader is creating a new, high-impact SVP role to drive enterprise-wide operational transformation across life insurance underwriting, new business, and sales administration.

This executive will play a critical role in modernizing operations, standardizing processes post?M&A, and enabling scalable growth through automation, AI, and operating model redesign. The mandate is clear: scale faster, reduce cost, and modernize the policy issuance experience—without proportional headcount growth.

Role Summary
The SVP, Operating Strategy & Process Optimization will lead large-scale transformation initiatives across underwriting and acquisition operations, owning process standardization, operating model strategy, and execution of enterprise modernization efforts.

This role blends deep insurance operations expertise with technology-enabled transformation leadership, serving as a bridge between business operations, IT, AI, and executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities Enterprise Transformation & Process Standardization
  • Drive enterprise-wide process consistency and operational excellence across multiple insurance entities and product lines
  • Eliminate silos and standardize underwriting, new business, and sales administration processes post?M&A
Operating Model Strategy
  • Define and execute future-state operating models (1-, 3-, and 5-year horizons)
  • Support scalable growth from $1B to $1.5B in issued premium through operational efficiency
Automation, AI & Digital Enablement
  • Lead adoption of AI, RPA, auto-decisioning, and virtual case management
  • Advance initiatives such as real-time underwriting and instant policy fulfillment
Business & Technology Alignment
  • Align underwriting operations with policy admin systems, mainframe platforms, and enterprise applications
  • Partner closely with IT, AI, actuarial, finance, and distribution leaders
Transformation Portfolio & PMO Leadership
  • Own transformation initiatives from business case through ROI realization
  • Mature project governance, cost-benefit analysis, KPI tracking, and post-implementation reviews
Change Management & Adoption
  • Lead large-scale change initiatives with a strong focus on stakeholder engagement and sustainable adoption
Executive Partnership
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to EVP/SVP leadership
  • Present progress and outcomes to executive leadership and board-level stakeholders

Ideal Candidate Profile
  • 5–8+ years of experience in insurance operations and enterprise transformation
  • Current or recent VP / Senior AVP / SVP operating leader
  • Strong blend of operational depth and technology transformation execution
  • Experience driving process standardization, automation, and large-scale change
  • Background in life insurance underwriting, new business, or acquisition operations
  • Consulting experience (Accenture, Deloitte, IBM, NTT Data, etc.) valued if paired with hands-on operational leadership

Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred

Experience
  • Senior leadership experience in life insurance operations
  • Proven success leading enterprise transformation initiatives
  • Strong understanding of underwriting workflows, policy issuance, and sales administration
  • Experience with AI, RPA, automation, and digital transformation
  • Ability to partner effectively across business and IT organizations
  • Executive-level communication and influence skills

Preferred Certifications
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
  • PMP
