RETTEW is offering an internal leadership opportunity for a Land Development Team Lead to support continued growth within our Planning & Design practice. This role is designed for experienced project managers who are ready to take the next step into team leadership while continuing to deliver strong technical and client-focused outcomes.
This position provides the opportunity to shape team performance, mentor staff, and support business development while maintaining involvement in complex land development projects across the region.

Locations: Mechanicsburg, PA
This role requires regular in-office collaboration with team members and leadership. Regional collaboration across offices is expected to support team alignment, resource sharing, and project delivery needs.
Position Summary
The Land Development Team Lead is responsible for leading a team of project managers and technical staff while maintaining oversight of project delivery, client satisfaction, and team development. This role blends leadership, technical expertise, and operational accountability to ensure strong project performance and sustainable team growth.
This leadership-focused role is intended for individuals ready to mentor others, strengthen team performance, and contribute to long-term business success across the Land Development practice.
Responsibilities / Day-to-Day
- Lead, coach, and mentor project managers and technical staff to support professional development and strong team performance
- Provide leadership oversight on complex land development projects, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget goals are met
- Serve as a resource to project managers for technical guidance, project strategy, and client engagement
- Support team workload planning, staffing coordination, and resource allocation across projects
- Monitor project financial performance and hold team members accountable to established operational metrics
- Maintain and strengthen client relationships while supporting business development and cross-selling opportunities
- Promote collaboration across offices and disciplines to leverage technical expertise and resources
- Ensure compliance with RETTEW standards, policies, and quality expectations
- Foster a culture of accountability, communication, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Demonstrated experience managing land development projects
- Proven ability to mentor or supervise staff in a project or team environment
- Strong technical expertise in land development engineering
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and support team workload planning
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Experience building and maintaining client relationships
Preferred
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary land development projects
- Demonstrated success supporting business development or client growth initiatives
- Experience supporting financial tracking, forecasting, or team performance metrics
