EssentialJobFunctions
- Display and encourage teamwork among employees and customers

- Possess familiarity with the use of all types of rigging hardware, slings, and safety issues associated with rigging, lifting loads, and lift planning
- In addition to classroom training, hands-on training is required and shall include proper inspection, use, and maintenance of loose gear such as slings, shackles, and hooks
- Proper handling and lifting of rigging equipment
- Handle lines to moor vessels to wharves and dockside
- Select certified, wire rope, synthetic slings, shackles, and other rigging gear according to weight and size of the load to be moved
- Attach and detach lifting equipment from the crane’s hoist
- May be designated as signal person when hand signals are required to control operations
- Complete any maintenance needed in the facility such as painting, emptying trash bins, using lawn equipment, cleaning restrooms, etc.
- Constantly monitor for anything that could make the previously stated duties unsafe
- Operate as a "banksman" giving hand signals to the crane operators and forklift operators
QHSEResponsibilities
- Actively participate in company WISE program
- Act as a mentor per company Mentoring and SSE programs
- Utilize Stop Work Authority when necessary
- Adhere to and comply with company policies, OSHA, and environmental regulations
- Abide by, convey, and enforce all safety rules, including the wear of PPE for oneself and others, including third party personnel on site at the facility
- Assist in the identification/mitigation of found hazards to eliminate exposures and impacts that adversely affect the safety and health of employees, the environment, and quality of the Company’s products and services
WorkEnvironment
- Subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions, electrical hazards, vibration noise, fumes, smoke, dust, gases, chemicals, and a variety of other physical conditions
- May be required to work alone and in congested areas
- May be required to perform work at an alternate location other than port facility
- Subject to adverse weather conditions including high winds, cold, and heat
