Job Description
Position: Land Use Attorney
Experience Required: 7-10+ years
Experience Required: 7-10+ years
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Representation: Represent property owners, builders, and local governments
- Legal Proceedings: Appear before planning commissions, city councils, county boards, LUBA, and Oregon Court of Appeals
- Land Use Matters: Handle zoning, permitting, comprehensive plans, and development approvals
- Team Collaboration: Work with multidisciplinary teams (planners, engineers, developers)
- Legal Compliance: Stay current with Oregon land use legislation and policy changes
Required Qualifications:
- 7-10+ years land use experience
- Oregon bar admission (Washington preferred)
- Strong oral/written communication and research skills
- Experience with zoning, permitting, and development approvals
- Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects under tight deadlines
Preferred Experience:
- Environmental and natural resources law
- Real estate and development law
- Municipal law
- Oregon's unique land use requirements
- Public hearing experience
Work Environment:
