    Job Description

    Junior level land position requiring an intermediate knowledge of negotiation and more advanced land management principles along with strong communication and organizational skills. Will be required to execute increasing duties under more limited direct supervision of a senior level Landman or Manager related to Company objectives.

    Essential Roles & Responsibilities

    • Secure the necessary title clearance, contracts, permits, and approvals for the drilling and production of oil and gas
    • Coordinate operational activities with Landowners and third parties
    • Assist in obtaining and evaluating title and contracts, and assist in the negotiation, leasing and purchase of real property
    • Help conduct due diligence in the acquisition and divestiture of assets
    • Prepare initial drafts of contracts and memos under direct supervision
    • Assemble and present PowerPoint to peers and/or management with support from more senior staff
    • Coordination and research for regulatory and governmental filings, applications, and hearings; testify at hearings as needed
    • Conduct business with the highest ethical standards; demonstrate decision-making skills that ensure the safety of all persons associated with SM facilities
    • Various other duties as assigned by the senior Landman or Manager

    Computer/Software Applications

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as company specific computer software and applications, including but not limited to QLS, SAP and Aucerna Execute software.
    • Proficient in land research resources such as Texas File, County Government Records, and Enverus applications.

    Role-Specific Technical Knowledge & Skills

    • Competent in contract provisions and leasing titles with intermediate knowledge of land management principals.
    • Basic knowledge of geological principles, operations, reservoir engineering and basin/resource plays.

    Typical Education

    • B.B.A. degree in Energy Management, Land Management or other Business degree.

    Typical Experience

    • Minimum of 2 years of industry work experience.
