Landscape Construction Project Manager

 The Role: The Project Manager is responsible for managing projects from start to project completion. This role requires an advanced knowledge of operations and the landscape trade. This role also requires leading and motivating others within the organization while displaying core values of the organization through work quality, service, and character. The position requires a high degree of responsibility. This role reports to the COO. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Project Management 

• Maintain construction schedules of projects under management as assigned.
• Ensure projects under management are completed at or under project budget assigned.
• Ensure productivity of construction managers on projects responsible for. 
• Interface with customers to communicate progress and project level issues. 
• Attend preconstruction meetings and weekly progress meetings. 
• Review purchase order requests and send to project coordinator for execution as needed. 
• Coordinate with construction managers to complete inspections required by city and local governments.
• Field technical questions from construction managers and troubleshoot. 
• Utilize Plangrid to create field reports and tasks list for jobs under management. 
• Review job site progress and schedule progress by visiting job sites daily. 
• Collect T&M tags from the field to submit change orders to customers for extra work. 
• Generate RFI's and submit them to the designer during the construction process. 
• Coordinate project closeout processes for jobs under management. Work with post construction team to get jobs into maintenance and turned over. 
• Manage the preconstruction process for all projects assigned to you. 
• Attend weekly operations meetings. 
• Daily and weekly meetings with project management team. 
• Manage project support staff assigned to you, ensuring they hit their individual KPIs. 
• Other duties assigned by operations leadership. 

CM Management

• Manage and direct construction manager staff assigned to you. 
• Field all questions from CMs 
• Manage crew size and equipment as needed utilizing labor hours budget by project. 
• Ensure CM meets project deadlines. 
• Meet with CM staff at 6AM every morning to review the daily schedule and job status. 

 Experience/Job Requirements:

• Valid driver's license with favorable DMV record.
• Proficiency using Microsoft software systems such as Word and Excel.
• Ability to communicate effectively with many different people in Spanish and English. 
• Strong desire to be a part of a close working supportive team.
• 5 years or more experience in commercial landscape construction. 
• A willingness to learn and complete tasks as needed to support the team.
• Comfortable working with various software systems.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written. 
• Highly organized, willing to coach and develop others. 
• Expert level skill with landscape construction plans, submittals, specs and common means and methods of landscape construction. 
• Team player with the ability to contribute to a team centric culture.

• Target: 95% of projects completed within budget.

• Target: Achieve a customer satisfaction score of 90% or higher.
• Measurement: Average score from customer feedback surveys post-project completion.

• Target: Maintain a productivity rate of 85% or higher for construction managers.
• Measurement: Ratio of actual work hours to planned work hours for construction managers.

1. Safety Compliance

• Target: Zero safety incidents on all projects.
• Measurement: Number of safety incidents reported per project.

1. Change Order Management

• Target: 100% of change orders processed within 48 hours.
• Measurement: Average time taken to process and approve change orders.

1. Inspection Pass Rate

• Target: 100% of projects pass all required inspections on the first attempt.
• Measurement: Percentage of projects that pass city and local government inspections without requiring rework.
