Landscape Laborer Job Description JOB SUMMARY Under the direction of the Landscape Manager, Landscape Laborer provides exceptional commercial and residential landscaping service all year round. The major duties, tasks, and responsibilities for the lawn care technician job description are shown below: Key Responsibilities: Landscape: Clean and maintain landscape beds including edging Dig holes and install plants Operate small dump truck and skid loader Safely use tools such as rakes, shovels and gas-powered equipment Willingness to be trained to use other tools and equipment Willingness to learn new techniques and skills to perform exceptionally well on a project Any other work outlined in the scope of landscaping Construction background preferred Work with and report to the supervisor to review the day’s work with a direct foreman Ensure inventory procedures are followed Be open to receiving training for field needs, technique, equipment, etc. Run smooth operations, punctuality, safety, and quality control Deliver work according to the contract specifications Ensure proper use of ergonomic practices, personal protective and safety equipment Attend to concerns or questions with clients by forwarding them to the foreman Communicate customer opportunities immediately with the account representatives Loading/unloading materials and equipment Clean and wash dirty equipment and return to the storage location Report broken or damaged equipment to management immediately Fill equipment, mowers, truck, and can with fuel and fuel additive in preparation for the next day’s work Follow the company’s manual strictly Snow Removal during winter months Shoveling or using equipment to clear snow from driveways, walkways, and parking lots. Applying salt or other de-icing agents to prevent ice buildup. Ensuring safe access to properties during winter weather events. Operating snowplows or snow blowers when necessary. Required Skills & Qualifications: Must be 18 years-of-age or older. Must be punctual, dedicated and enjoy working outdoors Knowledge of landscaping, lawn maintenance, and snow removal techniques. Proficiency with landscape and lawn care tools and snow removal equipment. Physical fitness and ability to work in various weather conditions; ability to lift 60+ lbs consistently. Strong customer service skills for interacting with clients. Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks, especially during busy seasons. Must have a current valid driver’s license Should possess excellent and good driving record Should have reliable transportation Ability to read and understand, and write English, including maps and diagrams. Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check Typical Work Environment: Outdoor work, often in varying weather conditions (heat, rain, snow). May involve early mornings, late evenings, and weekend shifts, particularly during snow seasons. Schedule: 10-hour shift, Monday thru Thursday, with occasional Fridays. Hours may vary.
