Landscape Maintenance Gardener

Winglewich Landscape Contracting is hiring a maintenance gardener. We are a highly rated, growing landscaping company serving many clients, typically in the West Sonoma county areas of Sebastopol, Santa Rosa, and the various communities along the Russian River.

• A gardener is a specialist, skilled in  management of bushes, flowers, trees from ground level, weeds, leaves, fertilizers, lawns, grasses, irrigation timing, and minor irrigation repairs and timer programming. This employee is the master of their garden truck & small trailer, and keeps it clean, organized, and presentable. Gardeners pay close attention to service profiles everytime they visit a property, and always report requests for special services or schedule changes to management. Getting everything to look nice is important, but good gardeners make good time, staying on schedule and arriving when expected. 
• Monday-Wednesday are usually "routes" - servicing repeat maintenance clients
• Thursday & Friday are one-off service & repair works.
• On days the gardener is not busy with routes or 1-off works, they may serve as labor on a build site, or take equipment to dealers for service or perform inventory/organization tasks at our shop location.

Pay Range

• Starting/Break In Period = 23/hr
• Gardener scores well on aptitude test and is trusted to work alone = 25/hr & uniform
• 6 months with no injury/accidents/major complaints = =1/hr each 6 months of acceptable performance until pay scale tops @30/hr

Bonus - $100 if you refer a potential client to book a build or repair job with us and they go forth with it

SHIFTS - M-Th 7-5 - OVERTIME ENCOURAGED ON FRIDAYS for 1.5x pay

What we expect out of a candidate for this job

• A deep respect for workplace safety & personal protective equipment
• Knowledge/Familiarity of garden plants & their care
• Some level of experience in the horticulture/nursery/gardening space
• Independent worker; able to perform tasks unsupervised
• Effective communicator - speaking with clients, updating management, etc.
• A good organizer - keeps the truck and trailer clean and in order, follows the steps and guidelines on each client's service profile, etc
• Accountable - showing up on time, performing the tasks your clients expect you to.
• Being able to show up @ our place of work on time everyday
• Ability to use our scheduling & booking apps to view client profiles, and send update photos
• Ability to drive a pickup truck w/small trailer
• Motivation - strives for 40+ hour weeks, tries to achieve bonuses, OT, and advancements through safe operations and excellent finished work
