Requirements
Physical, mental and emotional stamina to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position:
Manual dexterity sufficient to safely operate tools and equipment
Vision sufficient to read printed materials, small print, Safety Data Sheets, and maps, and detect subtle color differences
Hearing sufficient to communicate in person, by telephone, and via two-way radio
Clear speaking ability at normal conversational distances and when addressing groups
Physical agility to push, pull, bend, twist, squat, reach, and stoop
Physical mobility to move throughout the work environment
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted and up to 80 lbs. with assistance
Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time
Tolerance for prolonged exposure to grass, pollen, and outdoor elements
Mental acuity to collect information, evaluate situations, solve problems, and make sound decisions
Must have a valid driver's license
General Working Conditions
Groundskeepers primarily work outdoors and must be able to perform duties in varying environmental conditions.
Work schedules may include early morning hours and exposure to heat, cold, rain, humidity, and uneven terrain.
Tasks require extended periods of walking, standing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and operating equipment.
Work may involve potentially hazardous materials including pesticides, herbicides, and fuel.
Employees must have sufficient mobility to navigate the work environment and operate vehicles or equipment.
