The employee reports to a Director or other higher level administrator. Work is reviewed through reports presentations or projects.Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvides on-site technical assistance and support to schools in Language Arts curriculum instruction technology and assessmentMonitors the implementation of district-wide programs resources and servicesProvides technical assistance and support to schools in the development and implementation of Science initiatives and programsAssists schools through classroom visits consultation demonstration lessons and conferences.Provides leadership in the development implementation and coordination of district-wide programs and resourcesPlans implements andor brokers ongoing training for program personnel and teachers including new teachers and support staffParticipates in curricular development and revisionCoordinates the textbook selection process.Keeps abreast of national professional trends and changes in related curriculum area and disseminates that information to appropriate audiencesSupervises & coordinates the orderinguse of LanguageArts curriculum instruction technology and assessment materialssupplies and equipmentSupervises and coordinates projects developed to improve student achievement.Participates in the development and implementation of district programsDevelops advises manages and monitors grant programs and budgetary needs as assignedInterprets and communicates program policies & procedures to the Superintendent school administrators and instructional personnelProvides leadership in planning and conducting studiesPrepares monthly reports to immediate supervisor on all activities and accomplishmentsReviews provides feedback and monitors the implementation of school improvement plansDevelops implements and evaluates a district improvement planImplements program policies and procedures as determined by the District and TerritoryAnalyzes student achievement results and recommends changes to the curriculum Participates in ongoing professional development.Minimum QualificationsMaster&rsquos degree from an accredited college or university with major work in thespecific content area with at least three years’ teaching experience providing instruction to students.VI Board Certification RequiredPosition FactorsFACTOR 1- KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIESKnowledge of the education laws policies rules and regulations of the United States Virgin Islands.Knowledge of the theory principles and techniques of Language Arts instruction.Knowledge of a variety of instructional strategies.
