Large Press Set-Up Operator

HiFyve is hiring a Large Press Set-Up Operator in the Manufacturing industry!

Salary: $35-45/hr

Shift: 1st Shift M-Th 6a-3p Fri 6a-noon

Location: St. Paul, MN

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret blueprints and job routings to ensure accurate production.
  • Expertly set up and operate presses, including draws, forms, progressives, and other complex tooling.
  • Perform root cause analysis on die or press issues; coordinate with tool room and maintenance as needed.
  • Recommend process improvements for efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Stage all required materials to allow production to start without delay.
  • Use precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures) to confirm material specifications.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area; perform routine mechanical maintenance.
  • Inspect materials for defects to ensure quality standards are met; identify materials using tags or labels.
  • Follow all safety and compliance procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines.
  • Train and mentor Level I & II Set-Up Operators.
  • Record and capture work instructions to ensure consistent and accurate operations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Mastery of all types of press setups and operations.
  • Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills.
  • Attention to detail in inspections and quality control.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues independently.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective time management to meet production deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • 2+ years' experience in metal fabrication or press operation preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to see, hear, and perform tasks requiring close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and hand use; ability to reach with hands and arms.
  • Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks over long shifts.
  • Ability to regularly lift/move up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift/move up to 50 lbs.
