Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate CNC laser cutting machines to cut steel, aluminum, and other materials according to production requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and engineering drawings.
- Set up machines, load and unload materials, and make minor program or offset adjustments as needed.
- Inspect finished parts using measuring tools to ensure they meet quality specifications.
- Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot minor operating issues.
- Perform routine maintenance and keep equipment clean and in good working order.
- Maintain accurate production records and complete required documentation.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Work closely with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules.
- Assist in other fabrication or production areas as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous CNC laser cutting experience preferred (manufacturing experience required).
- Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts (or willingness to be trained).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Stand, bend, stoop, and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise, and dust.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Preferred Skills
- Experience with CNC laser cutting equipment (Bystronic, Trumpf, Mazak, Mitsubishi, or similar).
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes.
- Understanding of quality control standards.
- Experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.
