Job Description

Hours: 5:3am-2pm Monday through Friday

Pay: $19-20/hour

Position Summary
The Laser Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating laser machinery, interpreting blueprints and work instructions, performing machine setup and tool changes, inspecting finished parts, and maintaining accurate inventory. This position plays an important role in meeting production schedules, maintaining quality standards, minimizing machine downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative and are not intended to be all-inclusive. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
  • Read, understand, and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and other written or verbal instructions to safely and accurately operate laser and CNC machinery.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of laser machine operation and machine programs, including the ability to troubleshoot issues when necessary.
  • Operate and use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and other equipment in accordance with established safety procedures and operating standards.
  • Perform mechanical tool changes and other machine-related adjustments on laser equipment.
  • Manage inventory according to established procedures, including labeling and locating parts, picking specified quantities, preparing kits or bins, delivering materials to work areas, and recording and communicating inventory levels.
  • Inspect and test parts and products during and after production to ensure they meet established quality standards and specifications.

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED preferred; or
  • 1–2 years of related manufacturing, machine operation, or mechanical experience and/or training; or
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Required Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical/work instructions.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn machine operation and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, computers, forklifts, and related manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Dependable attendance and reliable transportation.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends, and adjusted schedules when production demands require it.
