Job Summary

This position is responsible for the advanced operation of a computer-based laser machining work center. The primary duties include laser processing components based on minimal instructions, which may be provided through drawings, written, or verbal directions. The employee will work under general supervision and is expected to become familiar with procedural concepts. Additionally, this role may involve providing leadership and guidance to newly hired or junior employees. The ability to work effectively in a team environment is crucial.

Responsibilities

• Perform medium to high complexity tasks related to customer-specific process requirements. Must be able to comprehend documentation requirements.
• Verify system conditions or equipment status before operation. May be required to adjust system settings within established guidelines.
• Inspect components to ensure specifications have been met.
• Enter data and report issues as required.
• Take responsibility for all required process documentation as directed.
• Train other employees on production processes or equipment usage as requested by the Supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Follow instructions from the Supervisor and/or Production Manager and conduct all work according to company policy and safe labor practices.
• Use laser radiation (non-ionizing) sources safely, considering the various wavelengths of laser light utilized, in accordance with personal protection policies.
• Conduct oneself in a professional and appropriate manner, maintaining a high standard of conduct and job performance.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum three years of experience in a comparable manufacturing environment, preferably utilizing computer-aided machinery or equivalent experience demonstrating the ability to follow detailed technical processes using mechanical equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with automated inspection equipment.
• Familiarity with ISO Quality Systems, particularly in medical device manufacturing.
• Experience using optical inspection equipment, such as magnifiers, microscopes, and/or equipment used for measuring capacity.
