Laser Operator Needed
FurstStaffing is looking for a Laser Operator on 1st shift. The Laser Operator plays an important role in keeping production running smoothly by operating laser cutting machines alongside collaborative robotic (cobot) systems. In this position, you’ll help produce high-quality parts, keep equipment running efficiently, and ensure everything stays on track throughout the process. Hours: Monday-Friday 5am-3pm
Pay: $23.00–$27.00 DOE
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC laser cutting machines and cobot systems to meet production requirements
- Load and unload raw materials and finished parts manually or using automated/cobot-assisted processes
- Program, adjust, and troubleshoot cobot operations to optimize workflow and efficiency
- Interpret blueprints, job travelers, and work instructions to ensure accuracy of cuts and finished parts
- Verify material type, thickness, and job specifications prior to processing
- Perform in-process inspections to ensure parts meet quality standards and tolerances
- Identify and escalate machine, programming, or quality issues to appropriate personnel
- Maintain proper tooling, fixtures, and organized work areas
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve automation and throughput
- Assist with preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting of laser and cobot systems
- Train or support team members on laser and cobot operations as needed
- Complete required documentation, including production data entry and quality checks
- Participate in and verify monthly cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy
Qualifications Required:
- Experience operating CNC laser cutting equipment or similar machinery
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Basic troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Preferred:
- Experience working with collaborative robots (cobots)
- Familiarity with automated manufacturing systems
- Prior experience in metal fabrication or similar industry
