Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Location: Troy, NY 12180

Job Summary:
Nesco Resource is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laser Operator to join a growing metal fabrication team. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC laser cutting equipment to produce high-quality metal parts according to specifications. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines (fiber or CO2)
• Load and unload raw materials, including sheet metal and plate
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and material specifications
• Adjust machine settings to ensure precise cuts and optimal performance
• Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting
• Monitor production quality and make adjustments as needed
• Maintain accurate production records and documentation
• Keep work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies

Qualifications:

• 1–3 years of experience operating laser cutting machines in a fabrication environment preferred
• Ability to read and use measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with CNC controls
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to lift up to [insert weight] and stand for extended periods
• Knowledge of metals such as steel, aluminum, and stainless steel is a plus

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working with fabrication drawings or blueprints
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Forklift experience (a plus)

Work Environment:
This position operates in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures. Proper safety equipment is required and provided.
