Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a Laser Trim Operator-Technician for our client, a precision manufacturing company supporting advanced ceramic and electronic component production, in Beaverton, OR. This position begins with training on day shift before transitioning permanently to a four-day swing shift schedule. This role supports the operation, programming, troubleshooting, and optimization of specialized laser systems used in a highly technical manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, technically curious, coachable, and interested in developing advanced skills in electronics, automation, and laser processing technology.
Pay & Schedule
Pay: $27+/hour DOE
Training Schedule: Day Shift, MondayFriday (training period)
Regular Schedule: Swing Shift, MondayThursday, 3:00 PM 1:30 AM

Key Responsibilities
Set up, program, and operate laser trimming equipment on a variety of materials and product types
Monitor production quality and make process adjustments as needed
Troubleshoot laser processing issues and support corrective actions
Maintain and optimize laser systems, positioning systems, and related equipment
Participate in process improvement initiatives and controlled experiments
Assist in developing department procedures, standards, and training materials
Support tooling and fixturing recommendations for standard and custom applications
Perform first article inspections and quality evaluations using precision measuring equipment
Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, production, and sales teams to support manufacturing objectives
Work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience operating laser equipment, CNC equipment, or automated manufacturing systems
Knowledge of electronics, circuit boards, industrial PCs, automation systems, or motion controls
Experience with CAD/CAM software or G-Code programming
Familiarity with C, C++, Visual Basic, Delphi, Pascal, Assembly Language, or similar programming environments
Experience using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, or dial indicators
Associate degree in Electronics Technology or related field, or equivalent experience
Familiarity with AS9100, ISO9001, or similar quality systems
Additional Requirements

This role operates in a precision manufacturing environment utilizing advanced laser systems, electronics, and automated production equipment. Employees should expect a combination of standing, walking, and sitting throughout the shift. No consistent heavy lifting is required. Safety glasses are required at all times, with gloves and lab coats used as needed. All required PPE is provided by the employer. Employees should wear closed-toed shoes and long pants.
