Description
POSITION
To respond to fire alarms, medical emergencies, and other emergency activities in the protection of life and property; and to participate in fire prevention, training and station and equipment maintenance activities. The purpose of this recruitment is to fill a current vacancy in the Woodland Fire Department as well as establish an eligibility list for future vacancies.

BENEFITS
Current Salary:
$6,959.52 - $8,459.33 /month ($3,212.09 - $3,904.31/bi-weekly)
Retirement:
CalPERS Retirement system (3% @ 50 Formula for Classic CalPERS members and 2.7% @ 57 Formula for new CalPERS members). The City does not participate in social security
Deferred Comp:
Choice of deferred compensation plans (Traditional and Roth). After successful completion of probation, new hires are also eligible for a 2% City contribution.
Medical:
CalPERS Medical Insurance Plans, including HMOs & PPOs. City gives an allowance toward the cost of insurance
Maximum Family Allowance for 2026: $2,752.96 per month and for 2027 is $2,948.97.
Dental/Vision:
City paid Delta Dental and VSP Vision Insurance
STD/LTD:
City paid wage protection for short- and long-term disabilities
Life Insurance:
City provides $50,000 life insurance policy
Voluntary Benefits:
Voluntary Supplemental Life, Cancer, Accident Only, STD/LTD, and Critical Illness insurances, and Flexible Spending Accounts available
Vacation:
11 hours per month during first 3 years of service; 72 hours of vacation added to leave bank upon hire
Sick Leave:
12 hours per month; 72 hours of sick leave added to leave bank upon hire
Holidays-In-Lieu:
11.2 hours per month
Longevity Pay:
2% of base pay at 10 years of service
Bilingual Pay:
200 per month upon certification
Education Incentive:
Up to 6% additional compensation for fire service diploma/certificates
Prof. Growth Incentive:
$625 per year for additional educational or professional activities
