Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Launch Structural Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in structural assembly, repair, and modification, especially within the aerospace sector - with exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety and quality.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform structural assembly, repair, and modifications of telecommunication satellites and related structures in accordance with drawing specifications.Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manuals to determine required repairs or modifications.Utilize hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.Collaborate with engineers and team members to resolve technical issues and support process improvements.Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, materials used, and repairs completed.Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.QualificationsEducation:High school diploma or equivalent.Experience:A minimum of 5 years of experience as a structural mechanic in the aerospace industry.Qualifications:Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and manuals.Strong knowledge of materials, tools, and structural repair techniques.Specific skills in riveting, drilling, and fastener installationClear understanding of surface preparation for bonding, incremental drilling for hole sizing for screws, rivets, wet bonding processesMechanical assembly and torque specification adherenceExperience with laser tracking and metrology is a plus.Knowledge of various types of rivets, such as solid rivets, blind rivets, Hi-Lock, Hi-Lite, and CherryMax, including installation requirements.Soft Skills:Strong problem-solving skills and exceptional attention to detail.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.Proven ability to adapt and follow detailed, technical instructions.Technology Stack:Precision measuring instrumentsHand and power tools commonly used in aerospace structural workDocumentation tools (digital or paper-based) for recording work performedPhysical Requirements:Hands-on work with flight hardware, test setups, and precision instruments.Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.Ability to work in various positions, including standing, kneeling, and crouching.Availability for extended shifts during launch campaigns.This job description may not be inclusive to the duties and responsibilities listed.
