Laundry and Sanitation Attendant

About the Role
We are seeking dependable Laundry and Sanitation Attendants to support daily operations within an active animal shelter environment. This position is responsible for keeping laundry, dishes, supplies, equipment, and work areas clean, organized, and properly sanitized. The role is ideal for someone with experience in laundry, custodial, housekeeping, janitorial, dishwashing, food service sanitation, or similar hands-on work.
This position does not involve direct animal care, handling, restraint, or feeding; however, candidates must be comfortable working in an animal shelter setting and being near dogs, cats, and other sheltered animals.

Work Environment
This role is performed in a commercial laundry and sanitation area within an active animal shelter. Candidates may be exposed to animal odors, soiled laundry, biological materials on dishes or bedding, pet hair, dander, cleaning chemicals, wet floors, steam, humidity, heat, and noise from commercial laundry and dishwashing equipment.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach, grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, and perform repetitive hand movements throughout the shift. Must be able to safely lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
