    Allied Universal is hiring a Law Enforcement Officer - Armed- Airport . The Armed Airport Law Enforcement Officer will serve and help safeguard the airport, its facilities, its travelers, and airport operations.

    Pay Rate: $28.86 / Hour with an hourly bonus of $3.58. Premium paid shall be based on the position actually worked by the employee.

    Each LEO will possess the following minimum qualifications (NO EXCEPTIONS):

    To be considered, all applicants must meet the following criteria:

    • 2+ years of professional law enforcement experience in the U.S. after graduating from a certified law enforcement academy (Federal, State, or County level)

    Pre-Employment Requirements:

    • Graduate of Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or Equivalent (must provide credentials upon applying)
    • Valid Driver's License
    • Law Enforcement Officer License
    • 22+ years of age

    Basic Qualifications: The basic qualifications listed below are representative of the relevant knowledge, skills, and/or experience required in order to be hired. These are requirements that we have determined are the minimum a candidate must have in order to be successful in this role.

    Formal Education, Licenses, and Certifications Required:

    Applicant must complete one of the following approved programs:

      1. Certified State law enforcement recruit training.
      1. Certified County law enforcement recruit training.
      1. Federal law enforcement training.
      1. Programs approved by the Director.
      1. Each LEO will possess the following minimum qualifications:
    • No felony convictions or convictions for abuse of a household member under Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 (18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(9)) or documented truthfulness infractions in violation of Giglio/Henthorn for federal impeachment proceedings (referring to the decisions in Giglio v. United States, 405 U.S. 105 (1972) and United States v. Henthorn, 931 F. 2d 29 (9th Cir. 1991)).
    • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions.

    Knowledge and Skills Required:

    • Must be able to supervise Contractor's personnel and work effectively with airport management, tenants, other law enforcement agencies and the public on matters relating to security disputes, complaints on the performance, conduct or behavior of subordinate employees.

    Other related attributes that would enahnce hiring consideration: These are other criteria that may enhance the hiring decision but would not rule out the candidate for consideration if not present.

    • Shall have no record of moral turpitude, domestic violence, untruthfulness, or mental or emotional disorders which may interfere with performance of duties.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
    • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
    • Ability to exercise sound judgement and render immediate, appropriate decisions, under stressful conditions.
    • Maturity in conduct behavior and attitude.
    • Ability to take orders, follow instructions, accept and assume responsibility for one's actions.
    • Alertness, attentiveness, and professional conduct. Ability to recognize, respond and take appropriate and corrective actions to various situations.
    • Strong moral character. Must possess high standards and be truthful.
    • Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing in English.
    • Courtesy in inter-person relationships with the public, airport employees, tenants, law enforcement and security personnel.
    • LEOs may be required to provide a court appearance for citations that are issued on behalf of DOTA. Contractor shall provide replacement staffing for LEOs that are required to attend a court proceeding.

    Physical Requirements and Environment:

    • Mentally and emotionally capable of performing all duties required for their assigned Post/duties.
    • In good physical health and be fully capable of performing normal or emergency duties requiring moderate to arduous physical exertion such as standing, walking patrolling for an entire shift(s), climbing stairs, running and self-defense.
    • Ability to perform essential physical tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation, including:
    • Lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs. (e.g., fire extinguisher) for a designated distance.
    • Assisting in the safe evacuation of individuals, including carrying a small child or providing support to persons with limited mobility.
    • Subject to a random drug screen.
    • Must be able to exercise physical force, if required, in the execution of their official duties.
    • Be able to successfully pass a security background check conducted by the DOTA pass and ID office.
    • Well-groomed and neat in appearance as officially commissioned representatives of the State.
    • Pass and complete a one-time physical examination within the past 6 months.
    • Pass a 12-panel drug test and pass all future random drug testing.
    • Correctable, vision to 20/30 each eye with normal color vision.
    • Able to hear at a normal conversational level. A hearing aid may be used to.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out safety and security procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities
    • Respond to incidents and critical situations
    • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter
    • May be required to provide a court appearance for citations that are issued on behalf of Department of Transportation - Aviation (DOTA)

    QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Must possess one or more of the following:
    • Certified State law enforcement recruit training
    • Certified County law enforcement recruit training
    • Federal law enforcement training
    • Post offer, able to successfully complete a security background check conducted by the Department of Transportation - Aviation Pass and ID Office
    • A valid driver's license if driving a company or client-owned vehicle
    • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
    • Must possess a minimum of two (2) years of professional experience as a law enforcement officer after graduating from a recognized and certified law enforcement organization in the U.S., i.e., Federal, State, County
    • Be at least 21 years of age, or higher if required by the state
    • Be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
    • Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
    • Effective oral and written communication skills
    • Problem solving and active listening skills
    • Able to assess and evaluate situations effectively; identify critical issues quickly and accurately
    • Able to mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy
    • Able to write informatively, clearly, and accurately
    • Teamwork skills
    • Attention to detail

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

    • College degree in criminal justice
