Position Overview
The Part-Time Restaurant Server is responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service while creating a welcoming and memorable dining experience for every guest. This role requires a positive attitude, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
The ideal candidate is friendly, professional, team-oriented, and available to work both weekdays and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service
- Greet guests promptly and create a welcoming dining experience.
- Present menus, answer questions regarding food and beverage offerings, and make recommendations.
- Accurately take food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system.
- Deliver food and beverages efficiently while ensuring accuracy and presentation standards.
- Anticipate guest needs and provide attentive service throughout the dining experience.
- Process guest payments accurately and efficiently.
- Resolve guest concerns professionally and escalate issues to management when necessary.
Dining Room Operations
- Prepare dining areas before service, including setting and resetting tables.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout service.
- Assist with opening, closing, and side work duties.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff, bartenders, and fellow team members to ensure efficient operations.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service guidelines.
Team Support
- Work collaboratively with team members to provide seamless service.
- Assist with banquet, golf outing, wedding, and special event service as needed.
- Support resort-wide hospitality initiatives and special events.
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to assist in other areas when business needs require.
Qualifications
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Previous restaurant, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred, but not required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to frequently reach, bend, stoop, and carry trays of food and beverages.
- Ability to work in a busy restaurant environment with varying noise levels.
Schedule Requirements
- Part-time position
- Must be available to work both weekdays and weekends
- Availability for evenings, holidays, and special events is required.
- Schedule will vary based on restaurant volume, events, and business needs.
