The SUD Counselor provides comprehensive clinical services to clients with substance use disorders in an outpatient setting. This role involves delivering individualized, group, family, and educational interventions while maintaining accurate and timely electronic documentation in accordance with organizational standards. The Counselor will manage an assigned caseload, ensuring high-quality, client-centered care that supports recovery, wellness, and long-term behavioral change.
Key Responsibilities:
The Counselor conducts clinical substance use assessments, develops recovery plans, and implements individualized treatment strategies tailored to each client's needs. They deliver direct services through individual counseling, group therapy, family sessions, and educational programming, while facilitating psycho-education classes, support groups, and skill-building workshops to promote recovery and relapse prevention. The Counselor provides occasional crisis intervention as needed and collaborates with internal and external resources to ensure client safety and well-being. Maintaining client caseloads, the Counselor ensures that all clinical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and assessments, is accurately entered into case management systems in a timely manner. Additionally, the Counselor works closely with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists, case managers, and community resource contacts, to coordinate care and comprehensive treatment planning. All services are provided in adherence to program productivity standards, fiscal responsibility, and regulatory compliance, while participating in ongoing professional development, trainings, and supervision to enhance clinical skills.
Schedule: Monday - Thursday 9am - 8pm.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must hold a current Texas license as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) and maintain the license in good standing with all applicable state regulations.
