LCSW or LMFT

Licensed Clinical Social Workers and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists are encouraged to consider an available PRN / as needed Clinician position with Liberty Healthcare.

Work setting and client population

Liberty Healthcare operates a specialized forensic mental health program located within the Maguire Correctional Facility – a San Mateo County jail.

This program exclusively serves adults who are justice-involved, experiencing mental illness, and have been determined to be incompetent to stand trial.

Mission

The goal of this cutting-edge program is to facilitate early access to mental health services, provide rapid psychiatric stabilization, and restore people to competency efficiently and effectively.

Location

The unit is located within the Maguire Correctional Facility - a San Mateo County jail located at 300 Bradford Street in Redwood City, CA 94063.

Responsibilities

As a Clinician, your role will involve:

• Providing services to program clients one-to-one, in-person, and onsite at the facility

• Conducting Psychosocial and risk assessments

• Providing brief treatment primarily focused on symptom management, psychoeducation, and crisis intervention

• Supporting clients with competency restoration training and education

• Documenting services and client status in the Liberty’s electronic health record system

• Participating in treatment team and other meetings

• Collaborating with clinical, ancillary and security staff

Work schedule

This is an “as needed” position offering occasional work in times of peak program utilization and when coverage is needed for staff who are on vacation or other leave.

Compensation

You can expect to be paid $65.00 per hour.

Qualifications

You are a good fit for this position if you are licensed professionally as an LCSW or LMFT. 

Experience working in an inpatient or secure setting is helpful but not required.
