Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive nursing care to labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn patients. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates individualized patient care while monitoring maternal and fetal well-being. Assists with labor, delivery, neonatal resuscitation, postpartum recovery, and newborn care. Collaborates with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.
Requirements:
Current RN license in the state of practice.
Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring certifications.
Previous Labor & Delivery experience preferred.
Strong assessment, critical thinking, communication, and emergency response skills.
Willing to float to other units as assigned based on competency and facility needs.
Essential Functions:
Provide nursing care throughout labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care.
Monitor maternal and fetal status and recognize changes requiring intervention.
Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries and neonatal resuscitation.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
Perform newborn assessments, testing, and patient education.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and hospital policies.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
