Forestdale School is searching for a Special Education Teacher to oversee a substantially separate, special education program for preK-2 students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or related diagnoses.
Job Responsibilities (not limited to):
- Work closely with program staff (BCBA, Special Education Teacher, Related Services Providers)
- Coordinate supervision/support to paraprofessional staff
- Create and oversee scheduling for paraprofessional staff
- Frequent consultation with general educators and special educators
- Collaborate and communicate with families
- Create and implement lesson plans based on individual student needs, ABA/ DTT programming, and IEP goals.
- Develop, implement, model, and oversee educational and Behavior Intervention Plans
- Attend and facilitate annual IEP meetings
- Draft and manage student IEP's
- Complete progress reports on a quarterly basis Assess students using a variety of informal assessments (VB mapp, Brigance, WIAT, ABLLS, etc.)
- Develop educational programming based on assessments
- With support from BCBA, perform ABA/DTT training with students, staff, and families
- Consult with outside agencies (with consent from families) on behalf of student progress
- Home visits (if necessary) to assess incoming students Support students with activities of daily living (including hygiene, toilet training, lifting, feeding, etc.)
- Consult with other district buildings for transition purposes and alignment of programming
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Must be flexible, collaborative, and solution oriented.
Appropriate DESE certification is required.
FY27 Starting Salary Range: $70,285 - $79,691, BA Step 5 - MA Step 5.
