Fortune 500 Industry leader is looking for a Lead Accountant to serve as a senior member of the accounting team, overseeing key accounting functions, leading month-end close activities, reviewing work prepared by staff accountants, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. This role acts as a technical accounting resource, helps improve processes, and serves as a mentor to junior accounting staff.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processesPrepare and review complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reportsAnalyze financial results and investigate variancesReview work performed by Staff Accountants and provide guidance and trainingEnsure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controlsAssist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysisCoordinate external audits and support tax compliance activitiesMaintain and improve accounting processes, procedures, and controlsManage fixed assets, accruals, prepaid expenses, and other key balance sheet accountsPartner with operational leaders and department managers to provide financial insight and supportAssist with ERP implementations, system enhancements, and process improvement initiativesSupport special projects and strategic initiatives as assignedQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance4+ years of progressive accounting experienceStrong knowledge of GAAP and financial reportingAdvanced Microsoft Excel skillExperience with ERP systems and financial reporting toolExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skillAbility to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlineStrong communication and leadership abilitiesPreferred QualificationsCPA certification or CPA candidate preferredPrior experience reviewing staff work or leading projectsManufacturing, distribution, healthcare, construction, or service industry experience depending on company needs#J-18808-Ljbffr
