The Humane Society of Missouri is seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Lead Adoption Counselor. In this leadership role, you will not only help support the animal but also assist in the daily operations of the adoption center by leading, mentoring, and training team members. Responsibilities Include: 

  • Train, mentor, and assist staff in their duties.
  • Ensure operations on the adoption floor are efficient and consistent.
  • Facilitate adoption process and clean and caretake after the animals.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete forms related to adoptions and animal care. 
  • Educate visitors about adoption process. 

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Three to six months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Experience in Chameleon tracking systems and word processing software preferred but not required.

This is a full-time position, which may include weekend hours.

Starting pay is $17/hour. Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 3 months of customer service experience and animal handling experience is preferred.
