Job Overview

The Lead AI Engineer will design, develop, and implement conversational and generative AI solutions across Google, AWS, and Microsoft ecosystems. This role will provide technical leadership and mentorship to AI engineers while developing secure, scalable AI agents, virtual assistants, APIs, and supporting integrations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop applications that interact with web services, APIs, and other software applications.
  • Mentor and lead AI design and development efforts as needed.
  • Conduct peer reviews of AI design and development efforts to ensure established standards are followed and enhanced where necessary.
  • Design the overall structure of Agentic AI solutions, including features, user flows, API development, and integrations with other systems.
  • Apply API design principles and account for the specific constraints of AI service interfaces.
  • Implement and tune Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques to improve AI assistants' understanding and response accuracy.
  • Train and deploy AI models while monitoring solution performance through dashboards and analytics.
  • Create custom indexes, manage data sources, and tune intent matching to improve AI solution accuracy and relevance.
  • Design conversational flows that deliver seamless, intuitive, human-like, and engaging user experiences.
  • Analyze agent interaction data to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare reports on agent performance metrics and identify opportunities to enhance solution effectiveness.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve agent performance issues through debugging, system updates, and ongoing optimization.
  • Ensure AI agents and conversational assistants comply with applicable data privacy requirements and maintain strong security standards when handling sensitive data.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, UX designers, project managers, business customers, and subject matter experts across the enterprise.
  • Collaborate with Automation Center of Excellence (CoE) team members to incorporate established standards and ensure solutions align with target architectures and technology roadmaps.
  • Ensure AI systems operate safely, transparently, and within acceptable boundaries in accordance with organizational governance policies and practices.
  • Plan, initiate, and lead proof-of-concept (POC) initiatives involving emerging technologies.
  • Develop technical documentation, presentations, and white papers using tools such as Word, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, and Excel.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent and extensive related project experience.
  • 6 years of experience in IT, with at least 4 years of combined implementation experience with AI Conversational Agents and/or Generative AI.
  • 2 years of AI Engineer experience developing Google conversational agents, CX Agent Studio, or Dialogflow CX Web and Voice Virtual Assistants.
  • 2 years of experience developing Enterprise Looker Dashboards to monitor AI Agent performance.
  • 2 years of AI Engineer experience in AWS ecosystems using AWS services such as AWS Bedrock, AWS Transcribe, AWS Comprehend, Lambda, and Step Functions.

Highly Desired Qualifications

  • Google and AWS Certifications relevant to this role.
