Lead AIOps Engineer: Developer Experience
As Lead DevOps Engineer you will design, build, and support an AI-native Software Development Platform for our most critical and strategic online transaction-processing systems.
We are looking for a builder with an entrepreneurial mindset: broadly collaborative, comfortable operating with ambiguity, and energized by the challenge of innovating and standing up new organizational capability. You will translate a bold vision into working software and durable engineering practice, then transfer what you have built to the teams that will scale it.
The Lead DevOps Engineer: Developer Experience will report directly to the Senior Director, DevOps and dotted-line to the Vice President, Enterprise Architecture.
You will be embedded in our Enterprise Architecture and become a trusted advisor and supplier to our software engineers.

What You'll Do

• Work with DevOps, Enterprise Architecture, and Software Engineering team members to design, build, and roll out a Software Development Platform for traditional, AI-assisted, and agentic development that optimally integrates the tools our developers use every day.
• Work with the Senior Enterprise Architect for Developer Experience to define and implement patterns, guardrails, skills, harnesses, metrics, and experiences that support high-quality, timely delivery.
• Validate the agentic development capability by using it to design, build, and verify production-grade software examples.
• Guide software engineers as they adopt the Software Development Platform, raising the bar on software quality, security, delivery velocity, and operational excellence.
• Continue to evolve our Software Development Platform as our business grows and AI advances.

What You'll Bring

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with 3+ years directing, mentoring, or leading other software engineers.
• Deep, hands-on experience designing and building production back-end systems and APIs, including RESTful services, event-driven architectures, and the data stores behind them.
• Experience with front-end development using React or a similar framework.
• Strong command of C#, .NET, and Azure, with a track record of writing code that is clean, testable, and operable in production.
• Practical experience building and operating cloud-native services on Microsoft Azure, including Azure API Management, Web Apps and Functions; identity; networking; and observability.
• Proficiency with the modern engineering toolchain company relies on, including Git, Azure DevOps (pipelines, repos, boards), VS Code, and SonarQube or comparable static analysis tools.
• Experience using Generative AI to develop enterprise software and production AI infrastructure such as MCP Servers.
• A demonstrated entrepreneurial mindset: broadly collaborative across disciplines, tolerant of ambiguity, biased toward action, and motivated by the opportunity to innovate and to build new organizational capability.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with additional relevant languages, frameworks, and runtimes such as React, Python, or Drupal/PHP.
• Experience leading platform or developer-productivity initiatives that impacted multiple engineering teams.
• Background in financial services, consumer credit, payments, or another regulated industry, including familiarity with the controls these environments require.
• Experience integrating AI into enterprise SDLC tooling, including governance, secrets handling, and audit considerations.
• Relevant contributions to open-source projects, technical writing, teaching, or speaking engagements.
