Role: Lead Application Architect (Cloud-Native)
Location: Reston, VA Onsite
Overview:
We are looking for a hands-on Application Architect with deep expertise in cloud-native infrastructure automation. This role is ideal for someone who can design scalable, secure, and automated application environments on AWS (or other major cloud platforms). You ll lead architecture and automation efforts while guiding engineers on best practices in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), DevOps, and system resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design cloud-native, scalable application and infrastructure architectures.
- Lead development of automation workflows using native cloud tools (e.g., AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Lambda, Terraform).
- Collaborate with product, security, and DevOps teams to deliver automated, secure, and compliant infrastructure.
- Drive CI/CD integration and infrastructure automation strategies.
- Mentor engineering teams on best practices for cloud architecture and deployment automation.
- Build technical documentation and reusable architecture templates.
Required Experience:
- 8 12 years of experience in application and infrastructure architecture.
- Deep hands-on experience with AWS or other cloud platforms (GCP, Azure).
- Proficient in IaC, scripting (Python, Bash), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of security, networking, and automation patterns.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Nice to Have:
- Working knowledge of Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional.
- Experience with Kubernetes, cross-region architectures, or multi-cloud setups.
