Job Summary:
  • The Procurement specialist with sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, components, and services required for elevator manufacturing operations.
  • This role ensures timely availability of quality parts at competitive costs while maintaining strong supplier relationships and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain.
Job Description: -
  • 5+ years' experience in working with Sourcing Domine.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for mechanical, electrical, electronics, and structural components used in elevator systems.
  • Conduct RFQs, RFPs, and competitive bidding to achieve best-cost sourcing.
  • Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and long-term agreements while ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Monitor supplier performance through KPIs such as delivery adherence, quality, cost, and responsiveness.
  • Manage purchase requisitions (PR) and convert them into purchase orders (PO) in the ERP system (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Ensure timely procurement of materials to support production schedules and new product development.
  • Coordinate with logistics for inbound deliveries and customs clearance (if applicable).
  • Resolve issues related to delivery delays, part shortages, and discrepancies.
  • Identify cost saving opportunities through value engineering, supplier consolidation, and localization initiatives.
  • Work closely with engineering for alternative material or supplier development.
  • Should have good communication skills and able to negotiate with suppliers.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Planning teams to understand material requirements.
  • Address quality issues and support root cause analysis with suppliers.
  • Participate in new product introduction (NPI) projects for sourcing new components.
Qualifications
  • Engineering Graduate is preferred
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience
Technical skills
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (fabrication, machining, casting, electronics).
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/MS Dynamics).
  • Knowledge of Should Costing, cost breakdown analysis, and supplier audits.
Soft skills
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
