If you re an experienced AV Lead Technician who knows commercial construction, can read a set of plans, and knows how to keep an installation crew moving, this is an opportunity to put your leadership skills to work.
TradeSTAR is recruiting an experienced Commercial AV Lead Technician for long-term projects throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area. You ll lead installation teams on commercial construction projects involving schools, corporate facilities, healthcare environments, government buildings, and other large-scale properties.
This is commercial AV construction not live events, entertainment, or production.
Take the Lead on High-Quality AV Installations
You ll be responsible for keeping crews productive, installations organized, and projects moving forward.
What You ll Do:
Lead and supervise commercial AV installation crews on active construction sites
Coordinate daily work with General Contractors, Superintendents, Foremen, and other trades
Install and oversee installation of displays, projectors, speakers, control systems, equipment racks, and structured cabling
Read and interpret blueprints, elevations, one-line diagrams, and construction documents
Plan cable routes and coordinate installation activities
Troubleshoot field issues and find practical solutions that keep projects on schedule
Maintain quality standards and follow job-site safety requirements
Assist with job planning, documentation, testing, and project closeout
Mentor Helpers and AV Technicians as they build their skills and advance their careers
Are You Ready to Lead?
We re looking for an experienced commercial AV professional who can take ownership in the field and set the standard for the crew.
You should have:
4+ years of commercial AV installation experience
Previous experience as an AV Lead Technician, Senior Installer, Foreman, or similar leadership role
Strong knowledge of commercial audiovisual installation methods and equipment
Experience leading crews on construction projects
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, elevations, and technical plans
Experience working alongside multiple construction trades
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and organizational skills
A professional attitude and commitment to quality craftsmanship
AVIXA CTS certification is a plus, but not required
