Lead Automation Engineer

Role Summary

The Intersect Group is seeking a Lead Automation Engineer to lead the strategy, architecture, and execution of a large scale enterprise regression automation platform. This is a highly visible technical leadership role for an experienced automation professional who can drive quality engineering transformation through modern automation frameworks, AI powered testing solutions, and operational excellence.

In this role, you will own the automation platform from design through ongoing optimization, ensuring scalable, reliable, and efficient test coverage across critical business applications. You will partner with Engineering, Product, Quality Engineering, and Release Management teams to improve release readiness, automation effectiveness, and overall software quality while mentoring engineers and establishing automation best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and lead the enterprise regression automation platform, including strategy, execution, governance, and ongoing optimization

• Design, develop, and enhance scalable Playwright based automation frameworks supporting UI, API, integration, and end to end testing

• Build and implement AI enabled automation solutions, including intelligent test generation, maintenance, and optimization capabilities

• Establish automation standards, quality metrics, release certification processes, and defect prevention strategies

• Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Release Management teams to ensure high quality releases

• Drive continuous improvements in automation coverage, execution efficiency, platform reliability, and test suite performance

• Perform architecture reviews, establish coding standards, mentor engineers, and provide hands on technical leadership

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation, platform, and testing challenges across multiple technology layers

Key Requirements

• 8+ years of software testing, quality engineering, or automation engineering experience, including experience leading enterprise automation initiatives

• Extensive hands on expertise with Playwright test automation framework development and implementation

• Strong experience testing and automating Salesforce applications and business processes

• Proven experience designing and building automation frameworks and enterprise regression platforms from the ground up

• Experience implementing AI powered test automation solutions, intelligent test generation, self healing automation, or autonomous testing capabilities

• Strong understanding of release readiness, automation governance, quality metrics, defect prevention, and regression optimization strategies

• Experience supporting large scale enterprise applications, ecommerce platforms, order management systems, or service operations environments

• Excellent problem solving, communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to operate effectively in fast paced environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Agentic AI, autonomous testing systems, and intelligent automation platforms

• Expertise in UI, API, integration, performance, and end to end test automation

• Knowledge of visual validation, synthetic monitoring, and intelligent test selection methodologies

• Deep understanding of the Salesforce ecosystem and enterprise application architecture

• Experience reducing flaky tests, improving regression execution performance, and optimizing test data strategies

• Proven success leading quality engineering initiatives within large enterprise organizations
