This role is a Mon-Fri Day ShiftJOB SUMMARYJabil is seeking a skilled and highly motivated Lead Automation Technician for our Day Shift. This role involves overseeing the maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of automated manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal production efficiency and product quality.Job ResponsibilitiesLead and mentor a team of automation technicians, providing guidance and technical support for complex issues.Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and calibration on a variety of automated machinery, including robots, PLCs, vision systems, and other control devices.Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems in automated production lines.Develop and implement solutions for recurring equipment failures and process inefficiencies to improve uptime and reduce scrap.Program, modify, and optimize PLC logic (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and HMI interfaces.Collaborate with engineering and production teams to support new equipment installations, upgrades, and process validations.Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and spare parts inventory.Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.Train junior technicians on new equipment and best maintenance practices.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects aimed at enhancing automation capabilities.EDUCATION AND MINIMUM EXPERIENCEAssociate's degree in Industrial Automation, Robotics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.5+ years of experience as an Automation Technician in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.Strong proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting (e.g., Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley, Siemens).Expertise in robotic systems (e.g., Fanuc, KUKA, ABB) programming, operation, and maintenance.Solid understanding of electrical control circuits, motor controls, sensors, and instrumentation.Experience with vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence) for inspection and guidance.Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and P&ID diagrams.Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independent and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Willingness to work day shift hours and occasional overtime as required.#J-18808-Ljbffr
