Company Overview

Our team is partnering with a rapidly scaling residential technology integrator serving the coastal Orange County and Los Angeles markets. With over 18 years of experience, this firm has established a reputation for excellence, moving beyond simply installing gadgets to integrating technology in a way that inspires connection within the home. They operate with a "scale-up" mindset—combining the stability of an established company with the energy and growth opportunities of a high-growth organization.

Why Join Us?

  • Accelerated Career Growth: As a "scale-up" company, we offer upward mobility that outpaces established competitors; team members often gain 10–15 years of industry knowledge within just 3–4 years.
  • Culture of "Always Learn, Always Teach": We invest heavily in our people through weekly educational series and a dedicated four-month mentorship period for new leads.
  • Purpose-Driven Work: We believe technology should be a bridge, not a wedge. Join a team passionate about integrating systems that enhance human connection.
  • High-Performance Environment: We value "grit" and passion. This is a place for professionals who want to put their careers on hyperdrive and work alongside others who are equally committed to their craft.
  • Team Connection: We maintain a tight-knit culture through monthly team events, including barbecues and professional sports outings.
  • Financial Stability & Perks: We offer a lucrative 401k match, a quarterly $150 dress stipend for boots/gear, and fully paid drive time from the shop to the job site.

Job Overview

We are seeking a Lead AV Installation Technician to serve as the onsite foreman for high-end residential projects. This role is designed for a technical expert who thrives on the "grit" of a job site and enjoys mentoring junior technicians. You will be responsible for taking projects from pre-wire through 100% trim-out, managing a crew of two technicians to ensure every installation meets our rigorous standards before handing off to the programming team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Field Operations: Serve as the onsite lead/foreman, managing a crew of two technicians and reporting directly to the Project Manager.
  • Execute Technical Phases: Lead and perform 100% of pre-wire, rough-in, and trim-out phases (speaker, camera, and TV installations).
  • Mentor & Train: Embody the "always learn, always teach" philosophy by providing hands-on training to junior apprentices.
  • Quality Accountability: Ensure all work meets company standards and projects stay on track, identifying and correcting issues in real-time.
  • Communication: Maintain a "speak up" environment; provide clear updates to the PM and collaborate effectively with strong team personalities.
  • Operational Support: Report to the shop daily at 7:00 AM for kick-offs and manage company-provided equipment and vehicles with professionalism.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications

  • Proven Lead Experience: Significant experience in residential AV integration, specifically leading crews through rough-in and trim-out phases.
  • Strong Technical Skills: Expertise in pre-wire, speaker/camera/TV installation, and cable termination.
  • Lutron Proficiency: Solid experience with Lutron systems is required.
  • Leadership Mindset: A "bias for action" and the ability to lead through mentorship and accountability, not ego.
  • Professionalism: Clean driving record and a polished demeanor suitable for high-end job sites.
  • Commitment: Willingness to work overtime (averaging 48 hours per week) to support a growing project pipeline.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Savant Experience: Familiarity with Savant systems is a plus.
  • Electrical Knowledge: Minor electrical experience is highly valued.
  • Local Proximity: Candidates residing in or near Orange County are preferred to minimize commute times.

Compensation

  • Hourly Rate: $28.00 – $38.00 per hour (based on experience and technical proficiency).
  • Overtime: Regular overtime opportunities (averaging 8 hours per week).

Benefits

  • 401k Plan: Includes a lucrative company match.
  • Comprehensive Insurance: Health, Dental, and Vision coverage.
  • Paid Time Off: Includes PTO and paid company holidays.
  • Gear Stipend: $150 quarterly stipend for work boots and pants.
  • Equipment: Company shirts, hats, and jackets provided; access to company vehicles for site travel
  • Paid Travel: Drive time from the shop to job sites is fully compensated.
