The Lead Banquet Setup / Houseperson supports the successful execution of meetings, events, and meal functions by leading banquet setup, maintaining event spaces, and ensuring all areas are clean, organized, and properly prepared. This role serves as a key point of support for the Banquet team, coordinating setup needs, responding to guest and event requirements, and helping create a seamless and professional experience for every function.
HOW YOU'LL SHAPE THE EXPERIENCE & FUTURE - Lead and coordinate banquet setup and breakdown for meetings, conferences, weddings, meal functions, and other events.
- Set tables, chairs, linens, staging, dance floors, buffet areas, bars, and other event equipment according to event orders and specifications.
- Review daily event requirements and ensure rooms are properly prepared prior to guest arrival.
- Lead and provide direction to banquet housepersons and setup team members during assigned functions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional appearance throughout banquet spaces, pre-function areas, and service areas.
- Monitor event spaces throughout functions and promptly address setup, cleanliness, or equipment needs.
- Assist with moving, lifting, and arranging tables, chairs, equipment, and other banquet supplies safely and efficiently.
- Communicate event changes, special requests, and operational needs to the Banquet Manager or appropriate leadership.
- Support banquet servers and other team members with room resets, replenishment, and other event-related needs.
- Ensure all banquet equipment and supplies are returned to their designated storage areas following events.
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and property standards while handling equipment and maintaining event spaces.
- Provide professional and courteous service to guests, clients, and fellow team members.
- Contribute to an efficient, collaborative, and service-focused banquet operation.
- Other duties as assigned.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE - Previous experience in banquet operations, hotel events, catering, hospitality, or a related service environment is preferred.
- Previous experience leading or directing a setup, banquet, or housekeeping team is a plus.
- Experience with meeting, conference, wedding, or special event setups is preferred.
- Candidates with strong hospitality experience, leadership skills, and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND - High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Additional hospitality, event management, or related training is a plus.
