The Post Oak Hotel is seeking a Lead Barista to join the only Forbes Five-Star Hotel in Texas. We hire passionate and professional colleagues who genuinely delight our guests through curated and authentic experiences. The Lead Barista will be responsible for leading the barista team to create a great guest experience through preparing and serving espresso-based coffee drinks and other beverages.
Responsibilities:
Lead Barista team members by managing work load and delegating tasks to ensure smooth service
Greet guests and welcome them in a friendly manner
Take drink orders and follow policy regarding service of alcohol
Know the menu and be able to explain menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods to guests
Coordinate with the kitchen staff to ensure all orders are prepared and delivered on time and together
Serve food and beverages promptly and efficiently, ensuring accuracy and good presentation
Check on guests during their stay to ensure satisfaction and address requests/concerns
Handle guest complaints or concerns professionally and bring issues to management
Responsibilities include complying with all federal and state laws, including the FLSA tip regulations regarding tip reporting
Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent
2-3 years of restaurant experience in high volume operation. Previous hotel experience, luxury or Forbes experience preferred
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays is required
Physical demands: Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and prolonged extended periods of standing. Ability to carry food and beverage trays safely and professionally.
