Thompson San Antonio is seeking an energetic and experienced Lead Bartender to elevate our beverage service and create memorable experiences for our guests. In this dynamic role, you will oversee daily bar operations, mentor staff, and ensure exceptional customer service in a lively, fast-paced environment. Your expertise in mixology, food safety, and hospitality will drive the success of our bar team, fostering a welcoming atmosphere where guests feel valued and engaged. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your leadership skills while delivering top-tier service in a vibrant setting.

Responsibilities: (Include but are not limited to the following:)

  • Lead the bar team to deliver outstanding customer service, ensuring guest satisfaction at all times
  • Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic options, adhering to quality standards
  • Manage bar inventory, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels using POS systems
  • Enforce food safety and food handling protocols to maintain compliance with health regulations in a busy nightlife or banquet setting
  • Train and mentor staff on proper serving techniques, POS operations, and customer engagement strategies
  • Coordinate with kitchen or catering teams for special events like banquets or private parties to ensure seamless service delivery

Qualifications:

  • Proven bartending experience in a high volume or fine dining restaurant or dining facility.
  • Previous hospitality experience preferred
  • Must have a working knowledge of beer, wine, liquor and common drink recipes.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with previous supervisory or lead roles in food service or hospitality settings
  • Proficiency with POS systems such as Micros POS for order entry, transactions and sales tracking
  • Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables or bar stations efficiently during peak hours
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly attitude and professional demeanor
  • TABC Certification Required
