• Position Type: Contract
• Contract Duration: 6 months (potential contract to hire)
• Start: June 16, 2026
• Pay Rate: $28.00 $29.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Monday Friday, 7:00 AM 4:00 PM; some overtime (approximately 4 hours per week, varies); rotating on-call schedule every 3rd week

Job Summary

As a CBRE ES Lead Building Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for observing, documenting, and presenting building condition issues to management, facility teams, and sponsors. You will also be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and repairing building system operations and the performance of various areas including plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, and repair building systems, including mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and fire life safety systems.
• Perform general preventive maintenance and corrective repairs for commercial HVAC and refrigeration units.
• Analyze complex technical problems and implement innovative solutions.

Required Skills

• Strong focus on HVAC/R, electrical, and plumbing.
• Must be able to respond to site within 45 minutes (no later than 1 hour) when alarms activate after hours.
• Must be available to fulfill the rotating on-call schedule (every 3rd week).

Preferred Skills

• EPA certification preferred.

Education Requirements

• EPA certification preferred.

Required Experience

• Minimum of five (5) years of building engineering experience.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
• Must be able to climb stairs or ladders.
• On-call rotating schedule every 3rd week; candidate is responsible for responding to the site after hours if alarms go off required response within 45 minutes (at the latest by 1 hour).
• Some overtime expected (approximately 4 hours per week; varies).

• Background check required: CBRE Safety-With Drug Test.
• Interview process: phone interview with hiring manager first, followed by an in-person interview.
• FP&L Requirement: Statewide search for individuals needs to be run.
