The Business Analytics, Reporting, and Data Strategy (BARDS) department delivers enterprise analytics, reporting, data strategy, and operational insights that enable informed decision-making across MITRE. The department partners with stakeholders across finance, operations, human resources, information technology, and executive leadership to improve business performance, advance strategic initiatives, and strengthen data-driven decision making through analytics, visualization, process improvement, and modern data solutions. This role will also directly support the CFO Front Office through strategic analysis, executive-level reporting, board materials development, and enterprise initiative support.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Lead enterprise business analysis and strategic initiatives by identifying business needs, evaluating opportunities, and developing actionable recommendations that improve organizational performance.
  • Manage cross-functional projects from planning through implementation, including project plans, milestones, governance, risk management, stakeholder communications, and executive reporting.
  • Support the CFO Front Office through development of strategic analyses, executive briefings, board materials, financial insights, and presentations for senior leadership.
  • Develop business cases, financial models, forecasts, dashboards, KPIs, and scenario analyses that support enterprise decision-making and strategic investments.
  • Partner with stakeholders across Finance, Operations, HR, IT, and business organizations to gather requirements, define success metrics, prioritize initiatives, and drive execution.
  • Analyze business processes, operational performance, financial trends, risks, and organizational data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Develop executive-ready reports, dashboards, visualizations, and presentations using modern analytics tools to communicate complex information to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Establish project governance, facilitate leadership meetings, monitor execution against objectives, and ensure alignment across multiple strategic initiatives while supporting enterprise data strategy and reporting modernization efforts.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years with a Master's degree; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Engineering, Operations, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience leading business analysis, strategic initiatives, project management, or operational improvement efforts within a corporate, consulting, government, or research environment.
  • Experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously, including planning, execution, stakeholder engagement, governance, and status reporting.
  • Experience developing business cases, financial analyses, dashboards, executive presentations, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to synthesize large, complex datasets into actionable business insights.
  • Experience with business intelligence and analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Alteryx, Python, or similar technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated experience presenting to executive leadership.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to independently prioritize work, manage competing priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships across functional organizations and influence decision-making without direct authority.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
  • This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Finance, Analytics, Data Science, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting executive leadership, CFO organizations, corporate strategy, financial planning, or enterprise transformation initiatives.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Lean Six Sigma, Agile, or comparable project management certification.
  • Experience preparing board materials, executive briefings, governance presentations, and strategic planning documentation.
  • Knowledge of enterprise data management, cloud analytics platforms, AWS, Denodo, or modern data architecture.
  • Experience implementing business process improvement, operational excellence, or organizational transformation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with predictive analytics, statistical modeling, or advanced scenario planning techniques.
  • Experience working within an FFRDC, government, defense, or other mission-driven organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders through consultative problem-solving, strategic thinking, and data-driven recommendations.

Salary compensation range and midpoint:

$132,000 - $165,000 - $198,000 Annual
