Job Title: Lead Business Architect – AI, Workflow & Business Transformation

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced
Lead Business Architect to lead business transformation, workflow modernization, and AI-enabled operational improvement initiatives. This is a senior, hands-on role requiring the ability to bridge business strategy, technology, and operational execution while working with business leaders, technical teams, product teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
The ideal candidate combines deep Business Architecture and transformation experience with practical expertise in AI, Low-Code/No-Code (LCNC) platforms, workflow design, prototyping, data architecture, and enterprise technology. This individual should be comfortable moving between strategic leadership and hands-on solution design, simplifying complex business problems and translating them into scalable, technology-enabled solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Lead Business Architecture and business process transformation initiatives, including development of future-state operating models and workflows.
- Assess current business processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, automation opportunities, and opportunities for end-to-end optimization.
- Lead discovery sessions with business stakeholders and translate business needs into scalable workflow designs, prototypes, and actionable technology roadmaps.
- Use AI and emerging technologies to accelerate discovery, streamline operations, automate manual activities, and improve decision-making.
- Develop and refine journey maps, microjourneys, business blueprints, and workflow prototypes using LCNC platforms.
- Conduct hands-on configuration and prototyping on LCNC/COTS platforms to demonstrate and validate proposed solutions.
- Partner with business SMEs to transfer knowledge and enable greater ownership of business processes, workflow configuration, reusable components, and business architecture.
- Establish and promote standardized, reusable, and scalable business capabilities across business domains.
- Collaborate with engineers, product teams, IT leadership, executives, and other stakeholders to translate business strategy into technical roadmaps and implementable workflow capabilities.
- Provide strategic direction for AI-enabled and automation-driven operations.
- Identify data, integration, and backend requirements and communicate technical-enablement needs to IT teams.
- Promote reuse, cost-benefit analysis, risk-based decision-making, and appropriate standardization versus customization.
- Provide senior-level troubleshooting, gap analysis, and recommendations for process and operational improvement.
- Mentor and guide other Business Architects and cross-functional team members.
- Influence stakeholders and business leaders through strong communication, strategic thinking, and knowledge of emerging technology capabilities.
Required Qualifications- 15+ years of professional experience leading Business Architecture, business transformation, or comparable enterprise transformation initiatives.
- Strong experience with AI, automation, emerging technologies, and modern approaches to business process optimization.
- Demonstrated experience leading business discovery sessions with real-time workflow configuration and prototyping.
- Hands-on experience creating journey maps, microjourneys, business blueprints, and workflow prototypes using LCNC platforms rather than relying solely on traditional documentation.
- Lead Business Architect / Business Architect certification in at least one applicable COTS/LCNC platform, with working knowledge of additional platforms. Relevant certification include:
- Pega Certified Business Architect (PCBA)
- Demonstrated experience leading or managing cross-functional teams and enabling business stakeholders/customers.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, influencing, and stakeholder-management skills.
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering/design, including development of backend scripts and queries using relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or Microsoft SQL Server.
- Working knowledge of AWS, Pega, Salesforce, MuleSoft, and Palantir Foundry/AIP.
- Strong understanding of software development processes, technical standards, and industry best practices.
- Demonstrated experience in hands-on technical leadership or technical management, preferably within a consulting or contractor environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work within defined schedules and deadlines.
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science or equivalent CS-focused bachelor's degree.
Preferred Qualifications- Private-sector experience with an enterprise transformation or product-oriented mindset.
- Experience modernizing complex, legacy business processes.
- Experience working across multiple LCNC/COTS platforms rather than being limited to a single technology.
- Experience working across business, IT, data, and product organizations.
- Experience implementing AI-enabled workflow automation and operational transformation.
Compensation:
The expected compensation range for this position is $140,000 - $200,000 annually. Compensation is determined in good faith and may vary based on job-related factors, including relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, clearance level, labor category alignment, contract requirements, work location, internal equity, and business needs.
