The department of Facilities Management at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a Lead Campus Service Worker.
About the Opportunity:
Under the Direction of the Supervisor/ Manager the Lead will provide guidance to assign Campus Service Workers and temporary workers performing general cleaning of assigned areas at the Health Science Complex and Cancer Center. Work within Safety codes and regulations.Responsible for training and work of other custodians.

What You'll Do:
Leadership Duties:
Team Leader, providing guidance to Campus Service Workers and assigned Temporary workers, and any other support personnel as required. Follows procedures and makes work assignments to those individuals assigned to the crew to ensure work is completed in a timely fashion ensuring proper quality and quantify. Inspects completed work assignments of assigned worker to ensure quality control. Ensures that proper safety procedures are used while performing job duties.
Receive work orders. Interfaces with Control Center, Supervisors, Managers, and/or requesting party to finalize set-up needs, event needs and/or scope of request. Communicates work assignments to employees, creating efficiency and a timely completion of assigned tasks.
Provides continual inspection of assigned area to ensure proper cleaning procedures and practices are being followed.
Individual will have to remain up to date on various cleaning products, equipment, safety procedures, medical monitoring and other associated practices of the custodial field.
Provides continual updates on progress of assigned areas, maintenance and material needs. Ensures that work group attends training programs, completes, assignments, and returns items to proper storage areas and reports areas needing attention.
Service Duties and Responsibilities:
Sweeps, mops, scrubs, disinfects, waxes, and polishes floors, hallways, stairs, elevators, and related fixtures using brooms, mops, rags, brushes, and powered scrubbing, buffing, and waxing machines. Cleans and disinfects bathroom walls, floors, fixtures, stalls, mirrors, lavatories, commodes, and other plumbing facilities. Replenishes bathroom supplies including toilet tissue, towels, and soap.
Vacuums and shampoos carpets, rugs, and upholstery using commercial vacuum cleaners and shampooers.
