Lead Carpenter / Project Manager

What You’ll Do

Hands-on carpentry and field work

Perform rough and finish carpentry, including framing, decks, trim, doors, windows, and punch-list items.
Read and build from architectural drawings, framing plans, and structural details.
Show the quality standard on site, and check that every detail meets it before we call a job done.
Project management

Run multiple residential projects at once, from contract signing through final inspection and closeout.
Build and maintain project schedules, and coordinate crews, subcontractors, and material deliveries.
Manage permits, inspections, and Certificates of Occupancy with local municipalities.
Track job budgets against estimates, and write and price change orders before any changed work begins.
Run site walkthroughs and frame walks, and turn the findings into clear punch lists.
Serve as the homeowner’s main point of contact, with patient, educational, and proactive updates.
General management and operations

Help write estimates and proposals and review scope with Matt.
Hire, train, and lead field crews, and build reliable subcontractor and supplier relationships.
Enforce job site safety, cleanliness, and NJ code compliance.
Improve processes for scheduling, purchasing, documentation, and client communication as the company grows.
Keep lien waivers, insurance certificates, and warranty documentation organized and current.
