Job Summary:
Under the direction of a RN/LPN or practitioner performs basic patient care activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Obtain and document patient vitals.
- Perform bedside testing.
- Perform basic nursing procedures such as oral care, perineal/foley care, non-sterile soaks, or thermal applications.
- Ensure cleanliness of office and examination rooms.
- Clean and store equipment.
- Maintain supply inventory and re-stock as required.
- Perform basic clerical duties as needed.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of basic nursing and patient care.
AGE-RELATED COMPETENCIES: Demonstrates the basic knowledge and skills necessary to identify age-specific patient needs appropriate for this position.

- Education - High school diploma or equivalent; plus specialized, short-term training in basic patient care.
- Work Experience - clinic setting preferred.
- Training - Formal nursing assistant and/or medical assistant training required.
- License/Certification - Certification in Nurse Assisting or Certification in Medical Assisting preferred.
ENVIROMENTAL CONDITIONS: Work environment consists of daily patient contact, which may include exposure to blood, or other body fluids.
