Own the Turning Cell That Keeps Aircraft Moving

Step into a lead role guiding a small CNC turning team that crafts precision aerospace/aviation components. In this hands-on position, you’ll set the pace on the shop floor—programming at a basic level in Mastercam, setting up multi-axis lathes with sub-spindles, running parts, and coordinating a production schedule that spans two shifts. You’ll be the go-to for tooling, quality, and communication across departments.

Location: Sumner, WA | Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1st shift | Status: Full-time, direct hire | Pay: $30–$40/hr DOE | Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k) & more

A Day in the Life

  • Kick off the day aligning priorities with Programming, Tooling, the Production Scheduler, and the General Manager—then translate that plan into clear, actionable direction for a 1–3 person production team across two shifts.
  • Set up and run 2-axis and multi-axis CNC lathes with sub-spindles; select and organize fixturing and tooling to meet work order requirements.
  • Write and edit basic CNC lathe programs in Mastercam; verify and update setup sheets before first article and throughout runs.
  • Keep machines producing: monitor cycle times, part quality, and uptime; step in to troubleshoot and optimize when needed.
  • Perform in-process inspections using precision measurement tools; answer operator questions and implement improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and repeatability.
  • Maintain accountability for labor tickets, time cards, and all work order paperwork—accurate, timely, complete.
  • Champion shop safety and housekeeping: uphold PPE requirements and a clean, organized work environment.

What You’ll Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years leading in a machine shop environment.
  • 5+ years of CNC lathe machining experience; exposure to CNC mills a plus.
  • Proven attention to detail, strong critical thinking, and dependable English communication (written and verbal).
  • Lead-by-example attitude, reliable attendance, and strong time management.
  • Comfort standing for extended periods in a manufacturing setting.
