LEAD CNC LIVE-TOOL LATHE MACHINIST/PROGRAMMER - 1ST SHIFT

Lee's Summit, MO (Kansas City metro) | Full-time, direct hire

Schedule: 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM

Pay: $30 to $45/hour depending on experience

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

A precision tooling and machining manufacturer in Lee's Summit is adding a Lead CNC Live-Tool Lathe Machinist/Programmer to its first shift. This is not a starting position. The company wants a Type A personality and natural leader who can own setups and production across several live-tool lathes, keep quality high, and possibly supervise operators.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Program, set up and operate Mori Seiki NL live-tool lathes (or similar) daily

- Run efficient setups and concurrent production runs across several CNC live-tool lathes

- Maintain high part quality through in-process inspection

- Possibly supervise and guide machine operators

- Keep a clean, organized work area

WHAT YOU NEED

- Minimum 5 years programming, setting up and operating live-tool lathes daily

- Expertise with Mori Seiki MSX and Fanuc controls

- Ability to present a descriptive portfolio of your parts and experience to verify competency

- Leadership presence and ownership mindset

PLUSES

- Programming, setting up and operating CNC machining centers

- G-code programming with knowledge of speeds and feeds for different materials

- Grounded manual machining skills

- GD&T and inspection methods

- SolidWorks, Mastercam and tool path generation

- Part and project quoting

- SPC, Lean manufacturing and process improvement

- Forklift certified
